Drain clog prevention tips

Drain clogs are very inconvenient any time, but can be especially devastating if you have house guest. What could be more embarrassing  than your guest not being able to flush the toilet.  There are things you can do, not only at holidays when you haveguest, but all year around, to prevent clogs. Some of the most common things you can do is be aware of what goes down your drains in the first place. You should never put stringy foods in the garbage disposal. And never put grease down the drain, even if you have a disposal.  Make sure to wait at least 15 minutes between showers, when you have extra people in your home. This allows the water heater to catch up and allows all the water to get down the drain before filling it again. Most importantly, keep your lines maintained all year long.
