Dishwasher Maintenance: What’s Involved?

Maintenance is something no one really likes to do, yet it can save you money and time because it will prevent many common problems. There are five simple things you can do on a regular basis to maintain your dishwasher and keep it running problem free. You should clean the filer to that the food does not wash out and get stuck back on your dishes. You should also wipe the inside door every day to remove stuck on food. You can buy products  to add to your wash cycle to keep soap scum from building up. Every six months you should run a load without any dishes to wash out the machine. Most importantly you need to remove the spray arm and clean out all the holes. Many calls to a plumber could be avoided if homeowners would keep the spray arm clean, thus avoiding a weak water stream that won’t clean the dishes.
