Winter weather can do terrible damage to your pipes. When preparing for freezing weather be usr to shut out all drafts near your pipes. You can wrap your pipes in insulation, and over any outside taps. If you are leaving your home vacant for the winter, be sure to drain out all water and leave your heat on very low. If your pipes do become frozen, turn off the water main, and use a warm cloth or hair dryer on the pipe until it no longer feels frozen to the touch. Check for leaks and turn the water back on.
